The Galloping Hill Cruisers Car Club of Union, NJ is a non-profit organization. Our purpose is to promote the safe enjoyment of antique, classic, custom, and special interest vehicles while generating and donating funds to worthwhile organizations and individuals in our area. For the past three years, we have been donating our proceeds from the Monday Cruise Nights to New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID). NJID has a dedicated staff of more than 400 employees in 25 locations throughout New Jersey. Each year, more than 1,000 infants, children and adults with disabilities and their families have been helped by the unique services provided by NJID. Our "cruise nights" are held each Monday at the Galloping Hill Inn, 325 Chestnut Street, Union, NJ (@ Five Points) from 6 - 9 p.m. Because we have wonderful, caring, generous sponsors, we were able to award over 350 trophies in 2008. Last year, we registered 530 vehicles. In 2009, we will "Celebrate America" on Monday, July 6. We urge our registrants to decorate their cars and themselves in an Americana theme. We'll have special trophies for cars and costumes that night. We will give away a GPS navigation system on July 6. On Monday, October 26, we'll have our Halloween Finale, which has always been very popular and a lot of fun. Special trophies will be awarded that evening also. Continental Airlines has generously donated two tickets to anywhere in the continental U. S. which will be given out on October 26. We'll have games, good food, and good music every Monday night. DJ Stick Shift Eddie and his wife, Janet, will be there spinning great tunes again this year. As of June 29, we have 278 cars registered. We'll be "up at the Hill" every Monday until October 26 (with the exception of Memorial Day and Labor Day holidays). |
